Principal Product Manager

Toolpath is building autonomous software to accelerate CNC machining using AI-powered machining strategies and deep geometric part comprehension. Our platform will help manufacturers quote parts faster, identify design issues, and automatically program a CNC milling machine directly from the model of a part.

Our platform will be a catalyst for innovation by lowering the cost of prototyping, accelerating product R&D, and enabling efficient rapid production.

We've raised $7M in seed funding to pursue this mission.

About This Role

We are looking for an experienced Principal Product Manager to help create autonomous software for CNC machining. As our first Product Manager, you'll work closely with the CEO and CTO. Deep experience with CAD/CAM software and a working knowledge of CNC machining is critical.

Responsibilities

  • Develop product strategy and translate product strategy into requirements and prototypes
  • Serve as team lead for the frontend development team
  • Lead sprint planning for both frontend and backend development
  • Manage the development of the web-based frontend and CAM-integrated frontends (including the Add-In for Autodesk Fusion)
  • Set target product delivery schedules and manage to that timeline
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer use-cases; identify and fill product gaps, and generate new ideas
  • Work closely with frontend and backend engineers to deliver our product quickly and efficiently
  • Drive product launches including private and public beta releases
  • Ensure marketing and sales is consistent with product strategy
  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
  • Represent the company by communicating with users to solicit feedback

Requirements

  • Work experience in software product management
  • Experience with existing CAD/CAM platforms and with CNC machining
  • Experience managing a successful product throughout its lifecycle
  • Ability to develop product strategies and effectively communicate recommendations
  • Self-motivated and skilled at working independently in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
